Interim Safety and Environmental Manager
The S&E Manager is responsible for the oversight of the safety and environmental process throughout the lifecycle of the project and for maintaining project Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) for Project CRENIC in accordance with current CRENIC contract requirements and current defence S&E policy, legislation, and regulations including programmable elements aspects.
The S&E Manager is the principal point of contact for the UK MoD Customer stakeholder community, internal TEAM ** project stakeholders as well as integrated ecosystem members on all S&E matters throughout the project lifecycle.
The role operates within an integrated CORE services environment and is seen both as an extension to the customer’s S&E team as well as providing oversight of all *** PROTECT S&E activity.
The S&E Manager ensures that all S&E deliverables for the project are produced in line with the SEMS and supports the wider project team in conducting the required analyses, solution development and documentation that supports the deliverables, particularly the Safety and Environmental Case Report.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Reporting to TEAM *** CHIEF ENGINEER in Bristol and under local management of TEAM *** PROGRAMME DIRECTOR in Cambridge.
2. Oversight of the project safety and environmental process including programmable elements aspects.
3. Assuring Team ** S&E deliverables satisfy contract requirements.
4. Providing advice to customer and project teams on S&E matters.
5. Preparation and/or review of Records of Actions and Decisions for S&E meetings.
6. Active participation in project S&E meetings. (SEWG, PSEP etc).
7. Preparation of weekly TEAM Core S&E reporting (Quad report).
8. Preparation of monthly TEAM Core S&E reporting (for CSSR, MMM etc).
9. Coordinating and chairing weekly S&E progress meetings with the Project S&E staff.
10. Presenting S&E status at TEAM Monthly Management Meetings.
11. Participation in S&E audit activity where needed.
12. Handing over to permanent S&E manager upon their appointment.
Other requirements:
1. Hold UK SC clearance.
2. Comply with project security aspects including enterprise cyber security requirements to access classified Team ** collaborative working portal.
3. Occasional travel within UK to collaborate with Team *** partners and Customer, including but not limited to London, Cambridge, Bristol, Basildon, Southampton.
