Role: Maintenance Engineer Location: Hereford Salary: £35,000 – 43,000 overtime Shift: Mon – Thurs (8am – 4.30pm) Friday (8am – 3.30pm) Permanent Position This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Hereford. This market leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation. The Specialist Technologies facility in Hereford is seeking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to strengthen the proactive and reactive support for manufacturing operations where problem solving skills in electro[1]mechanical systems are a key requirement. Main responsibilities: Timely and effective response to machine breakdowns. Diligent application and development of preventative maintenance measures. Insightful & pro-active continuous improvement to enhance safety, asset reliability & efficiency. Support activities related to legal compliance. Support the business in maintaining its accreditations. Co-ordinate and supervise sub-contractors. Assist with the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Work effectively with the business to deliver excellent customer service. Assist with the maintenance of suitable spares inventory. Qualifications, experience and skills: Good general education, with strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills HND in electro-mechanical systems or equivalent with track record of hands-on application. Experience working with compressors, pumps, cooling systems and PLC controlled high temperature furnaces is desirable. Effective approach to problem solving is essential. Diligent, methodical and accurate with high attention to detail. Effective communication skills and an ability to work well within small teams. Ability to reliably interact and work safely with complex, high risk electro-mechanical systems. Qualifications, experience and skills: Electrical qualification is essential together with mechanical aptitude.
