Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

The Sizewell C (SZC) project is seeking a Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join the Civils Works Alliance (CWA) team. This crucial role will involve supporting operational teams throughout the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases, ensuring the successful delivery of the project while meeting HSW objectives and legal requirements. The HSW Advisor will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing, helping to ensure that all health, safety, and regulatory obligations are fully met throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake Health and Safety compliance inspections, tours and audits to satisfy the monthly HSW Assurance Plan, the HSW Manager, or as requested by the CWA in response to emerging risks.
* Able to prepare fact driven reports following inspections, tours, audits and investigations.
* Support the implementation of and ensure compliance with the Sizewell C (SZC) project standards and the CWA Safety Management System (SMS).
* Trained to CWA standard for Investigating Incidents (Principal Incident Investigators HFAC's Training).
* Works closely with the operational teams to coordinate and share the relevant information required to compile the appropriate reports when an event has occurred.
* Ensure that lessons learned from monitoring, events and or from the Alliance parent companies are communicated and adopted by the project teams
* Able to identify and rank risk associated with CWA work activities.
* Ability to communicate and promote a positive Health & Safety culture
* Undertake reviews of relevant safety documentation, e.g. work package plans / task briefings
* Support the CWA site induction process
What skills & experience are we looking for?
* Ability to influence and promote a positive HSW culture, by providing constructive feedback to others around their performance, strengths and development needs
* Competence in accident and incident investigation.
* At least three years in a Health and Safety role with relevant constructed related or transferable experience.
* Has a good understanding of UK Health and Safety Legislation.
* Able to use data and information for the preparation of HSW reports
* NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
* Minimum Tech IOSH
* Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
