Band 7 (£46,148 - £52,809)
Permanent Post. Up to 37.5 Hours (Minimum 22.5 hours)
Clinical Lead/Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist - Adult Community
Our small and friendly community team is looking for an experienced Band 7 to provide clinical support, experience and leadership within North Kirklees (although may be required to cover South Kirklees based on service need).
Main duties of the job
You will have autonomous clinical management of a highly complex patient caseload within the adult community service. You will support the Team Leader and Service manager to develop and lead the SLT service.
The team provides assessment and therapy via face-to-face, virtual, domiciliary visits and other locations. The team's caseload is highly varied including a range of aetiologies including, but not limited to, MND, Stroke, TBI, Parkinson's, Huntington's, Multiple Sclerosis and Dementia. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate skills and experience in managing complex cases and providing guidance when supporting team members to manage these patients. You will require understanding of care pathways and best practice to enable continued service delivery. Monitoring and supporting with waiting lists and aiding efficient session planning will also be a key responsibility.
Clinical supervision will be a central role; therefore, experience facilitating and supporting individual and group supervision sessions is essential. Completing annual appraisals and exploring and enabling ongoing CPD opportunities for team members at all levels which is balanced with the ongoing waitlist demands will also be an important aspect of the post.
