You will be based at Peterborough City Hospital and work cross-site at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Stamford and Rutland Hospital. We work closely with the Community sector providing support and governance for GPwER and Nursing Specialists in the region.
As our new Consultant Dermatologist, you will be part of a welcoming and supportive team dedicated to providing comprehensive care at the secondary level for patients with Medical Dermatology and skin cancer needs and participating in outpatient clinics.
You will be a Member of the Royal College of Physicians or have equivalent experience and training and must be fully registered and licensed to practice with the General Medical Council. Specialist Registrars who have successfully completed all parts of their training must be listed in the specialist register within six months of the appointment committee.

Main duties of the job
Principal elements of the post will be:
* To provide outpatient clinic and procedure lists across the hospital sites for inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer patients in the adult and paediatric population.
* To be an active member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team, with regular attendance at the alternate week MDT meetings.
* To provide support, training and governance to nurses and any junior medical staff in the team. Support for local GPwSI, GPs in training and students from regional hospitals is also anticipated.
* To provide a comprehensive Dermatology service, in collaboration with other Dermatologists, including inpatient care and referrals, outpatient referrals and treatment and telephone or electronic advice and guidance to local GPs.
* Active participation in clinical audit, continuing professional development and research as appropriate. There is access to a study leave budget for appropriate CPD activities. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the Trust and CBU Clinical Governance processes including the dedicated monthly half days. Compliance with annual appraisal and revalidation programme is required.
* To work with NWAFT and community colleagues to develop integrated services for Skin patients in the region.
* To work with colleagues to promote the collective aims of the division and the Trust.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is managerially accountable to the Divisional Operational Manager, Division of Surgery and clinically accountable to the Divisional Director, Division of Surgery.
Applicants will be expected to be Members of the Royal College of Physicians or have equivalent experience and training and must be fully registered and licensed to practise with the General Medical Council. The appointee must be on the GMC's Specialist Register prior to taking up the appointment. Specialist Registrars who have successfully completed all parts of their training must be listed in the specialist register within six months of the appointment committee.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register (CCT or CESR); eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview.
* Possession of MRCP or equivalent qualifications.
* Higher degree (e.g. MD, PHD or equivalent).
Clinical Experience and Knowledge
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Dermatology.
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of Dermatological problems.
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Evidence of sub-specialty interests would be beneficial.
Management and Administrative Experience
* Ability to organise and manage daily working priorities.
* Ability and willingness to work within the Trust and NHS performance framework and targets.
* Basic IT skills.
* Management training course.
Teaching Experience
* Experience of supervising and teaching junior doctors, nurses and students.
* Ability to teach clinical skills.
* Formal Training/teaching course.
Research and Audit Experience
* Interest in research and the ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
* Understanding and experience of audit.
* Publications in peer-reviewed Dermatological journals.
* Evidence of audit projects undertaken.
