The Role
To be responsible for the management of day-to-day service provision in accordance with the council’s requirements for waste services.
To drive all vehicles associated with the waste collection operation, to collect and deliver material to a predetermined site and be the team leader on the allocated round.
The safe operation of vehicles and undertaking the statutory vehicle checks.
The efficient and effective supervision of a close-knit team that are collecting and removing recyclable material and waste from across Tameside.
It is essential that you can work in all weather conditions, use basic tools e.g. brush and shovel, understand and carry out written and verbal instructions, be helpful, courteous and respectful to both customers and colleagues.
You will also be expected to undertake significant amounts of driving in an urban environment and also walking, lifting and manoeuvering of full and empty waste collection receptacles.

About You
Do you have a clean LGV Class II licence to drive a Refuse Collection vehicle?
Do you have a digital tachograph card & a Driver Qualification Card (CPC)?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised individual to join our refuse collection service as a driver team leader.
Being helpful, courteous and respectful to both customers and colleagues is also essential.
