We have an exciting opportunity for an Operative to join our Logistics team. This role is key to the day-to-day delivery of a diverse range of logistics-related services, including administration. The responsibilities will include: Logistics • Loading and unloading of vehicles. • Counterbalance forklift operation. • Operation of Indoor gantry crane. • Receipt of Goods for Staff, tenants, contractors. • Receipt and handling of hazardous materials such as oils, acids, chemicals & radioactive items. • Internal deliveries of post and parcels to the DL site. • Internal delivery of large, palletized goods to site. • Collection of goods for Despatch/ Disposal. • Collection of redundant WEEE equipment. • Waste management, including arranging skip replenishment • Liaising with waste management contractors. • Packaging and Despatch of goods, including raising documentation. • Liaising with couriers relating to exports. • Ordering, receiving and storage of gas bottles. General Administration • Updating of computerized records. • Processing receipts. • Recording of deliveries. • Import/Export administration. • Day to day movements / administration of equipment held in storage • Maintain records and organise disposal of assets and other equipment • Processing/booking UK dispatches using couriers or freight agents, this includes database work and physical packing and labelling. • Arrange recharging of services as required. • Logging Imports and labelling for internal delivery. • Other duties requested by senior managers that are not deemed unreasonable. Essential shortlisting criteria: • Good level of Maths and English. • Good level of fitness: Post involves manual handling. • Flexibility to work occasional overtime. • Current full UK Driving license (to undertake on/off site driving duties) • Some logistics specific experience. • Familiarity with Microsoft office and SharePoint. • Good Health and safety awareness. Desirable: • A counterbalance forklift operator's certificate/license. • Knowledge of UK customs procedures. • Experience of working in a busy goods inwards/store's environment.
