Maintenance and Reliability Manager

This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and functional expertise to the McCormick Peterborough Plant for its asset management strategy. This position leads a Planned Maintenance (PM) strategy focused on building Employee capability and driving Employee engagement through implementation of high-performance work systems to achieve exceptional business results.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the creation of and execute the delivery of the site PM Pillar Plan and Strategy in line with Journey to Excellence (JTE, McCormick term for Continuous Improvement) Masterplan.
* Lead and support Plant PM assessments, audits, and training.
* Connect Plant, CI and Maintenance Leaders to PM methodology and progress.
* Ensure the optimal technology (e.g. CMMS) is deployed to create visibility of Maintenance losses.
* Implement the site PM Pillar and participate in the Regional PM Pillar.
* Own and deploy standards and training materials for various PM systems, tools and processes (e.g. Breakdown Elimination, Planning and Scheduling and Equipment Ranking, mechanical and electrical components)
* Create linkage between PM and other pillars (e.g. Autonomous Maintenance Step 3 and 4 standards and Training and Development skills matrix)
* Own PM KPIs including Maintenance Cost, Storeroom Inventory, and Breakdowns
* Ensure an effective yearly maintenance plan is scheduled and delivered.
* Ensure correct and sufficient information is gathered for Life cycle costing (LCC).
* Ensure the quality control and alignment on all facilities maintenance related tasks via service providers.
* Coach and/or lead employee’s activities to build PM capability in Operations and Maintenance.
* Understand Maintenance losses and lead Maintenance savings projects across the site.
* Recommend and provide support for Maintenance Org Design at a Site, Dept, Line and Shift level.
* Drive the development of maintenance training needs analyses and matrix, and ensure training is delivered in line with it.
* Build a Mechanical and Electrical succession plan.
* Strategic workforce planning of Maintenance team to understand future skills profiles required.
* Support Process and Project engineers as directed by the site Engineering Lead
CANDIDATE PROFILE
* Engineering qualification to Higher National Certificate/BTEC Level 4 (or equivalent) as a minimum.
* Solid electro-mechanical-automation background in manufacturing environment (FMCG, aerospace or automotive preferably).
* Experience and fluency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and PM practices.
* Experience in Food Processing preferred, but not required.
* Team and Operations Leadership experience - ability to proactively lead and coach teams to solve problems, multi-task and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ability to exercise good judgment in high pressure, sensitive situations.
* Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and days as needed to meet business demands.
* Ability to rapidly change and adapt in response to market, customer, or strategy.
