SAIC is seeking a Site Lead to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program for the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa (U-A) Warfare Center (UAWC) working at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom (UK).
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards that support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners facilitating all-domain warfighter training across the full spectrum of conflict.
The role of this position is to lead the initial setup and subsequent continued operations of a new F-35 Emulated Non-OFP Interoperability Experience (FENIX) site at RAF Lakenheath, UK. This site’s mission is to enable F-35 all-domain joint and coalition tactical training utilizing the FENIX simulator to US, allied, and partner-nation warfighters spanning the United States European Command (USEUCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR).
The FENIX - Site Lead will lead the team that:
* Supports the tactical planning, setup, testing, and execution of FENIX training exercises and events, to include:
o Facilitate the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) for 48FW FENIX exercises and events, including scenario development, mission planning, mass briefs, mission briefs, execution, debriefs, analysis, and after-action reports.
o Integrate 48FW training audiences utilizing FENIX into UAWC-hosted LVC training exercises and events.
o Execute blue, red, and white force roles in simulation systems that include but are not limited to F-35 FENIX, Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), and Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE) in missions that include 5th Gen fighter employment, 5th Gen / 4th Gen Fighter Integration (FI), Offensive Counterair (OCA), Defense Counterair (DCA), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD), Air Interdiction (AI), Close Air Support (CAS), Strike Coordination and Reconnaissance (SCAR), Dynamic Targeting (DT), and Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR).
o Develop exercise documents including Air Operations Directives (AOD), Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Airspace Control Plans (ACP), Airspace Control Orders (ACO), Area Air Defense Plans (AADP), Special Instructions (SPINs), and mission execution products.
o Prepare and present USAF, Joint Force, and Allied air warfare briefings, support academic development and instruction, and lead air warfare discussions with a wide range of audiences as requested by the US Government.
* Provide enterprise level systems administration, networking engineering, configuration management, and information assurance security officer (ISSO) across local LANs and exercise enclaves to enable FENIX training events and exercises.
* Provide M&S services and support for federations, models, and systems supporting FENIX training exercises and events.
* Report overall site status and exercise/training event effectiveness, to include: monthly status reports, situational reports, post-exercise / engagement assessment, papers (point, decision, white, recommendations, analysis), test plans, evaluation reports, and equipment records.
Travel – Initial requirements for travel will be up to 20% with travel requirements reducing to 10% or below once operations are established.
Qualifications
Required Experience/Qualifications
* 4th/5th Gen Fighter Pilot with operational experience within 5 years; Bachelor’s and 14 or Master's and 12 yrs; or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
* Minimum of 200 hours of flight instructor or flight evaluator experience.
* Expert knowledge of USAF tactical employment doctrine and US Joint doctrine.
* US Citizen and Active Top Secret / SCI.
Desired Experience/Qualifications:
* USAF Weapons School or US Navy Top Gun graduate.
* Experience with F-35 tactical employment.
* Air Operations Center experience.
* Experience delivering M&S training solutions to a military training audience.
* Demonstrated success as a previous Site Lead.
