NewGen operates from 2 principal locations in the UK, being Manchester and London and has rapidly growing presence out of New York, in the USA. The Role We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to coordinate and contribute to financial and operational functions of NewGen. This role reports directly into the Group Financial Controller where, in collaboration with the NewGen finance team, you will help inform the way decisions are made group-wide alongside being the custodians of the group’s financial data. The role would suit someone already working in accounting (either wanting to start your qualification or being part way there) with a desire to support wider operational business functions. A passion for social media and the creator economy always helps too Being backed by Private Equity in a rapidly growing industry, there is significant growth potential over the coming years and the role will provide you with exposure and responsibilities across UK & US finance and operations. It would be advantageous if the candidate is in the Manchester area as this role will be office based 2 days per week. Responsibilities Collaborate with our agency, creator and leadership teams to aid in managing NewGen’s daily financial operations; Challenge and hold to account internal stakeholders on matters relevant to the financial performance of the business; Manage the activities of our non-financial teams, providing oversight and ensuring timely and accurate disbursements to our vendor partners alongside facilitating the provision of remittance advice; Build strong external partnership relations and manage the timely receipt of revenues; Assist with cross-team financial and operational management projects as assigned; Analyse trends in the cost-base and make recommendations on improvements to the control environment; Proactively complete month-end accounting and reporting tasks; and Adhere to NewGen internal financial reporting requirements; The Ideal Candidate Will Have Sharp analytical skills and financial acumen; Familiarity with accounting systems such as Xero and Tipalti; Positive attitude and collaborative approach to business; Flexibility to see the “big picture” but also handle the “nuts and bolts” when needed; Excellent organizational skills; and Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team; Requests A Bachelor’s Degree / Apprenticeship qualification in business, finance, economics, or related field; Willingness to study or currently studying towards AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA; Experience in entertainment, social media, or marketing industries preferred but not required.
