Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm)
Salary: £26,215.00 - £40,660.00 per annum
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Housing Officer to cover a 9-month maternity leave. You will be responsible for the effective management of Initial Accommodation (IA) housing, providing crucial support and guidance to team members and ensuring the well-being of service users. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of compliance, and the ability to manage a busy workload while prioritising safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Property Management & Compliance:
Plan and conduct regular property inspections and audits.
Ensure properties meet required standards and comply with all relevant regulations.
Report on inspection outcomes and recommend necessary actions.
2. Team Support & Development:
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
Ensure team training is up-to-date and aligned with contract requirements.
3. Service User Welfare:
Prioritise the safeguarding of all service users within IA accommodation.
Handle complaints and respond appropriately and professionally.
4. Operational Efficiency:
Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of IA housing.
Meet Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) within established timeframes.
5. Stakeholder Management:
Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
6. On-Call Availability:
Provide on-call cover during peak times or emergencies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience in housing management or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
4. Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
5. Commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
6. Full UK Driving Licence (essential due to extensive travel).
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. Experience working with vulnerable adults or within the asylum/immigration sector.
2. Knowledge of relevant housing legislation.
