We are looking for an experienced Litigation Manager with experience representing clients in Employment Tribunals to join their field-based team within a vibrant, award-winning, fast-growing organisation, who have incredible growth plans and are part of a Global Group.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for our client, a true market leader, be able to work from home and within the field representing clients within employment tribunal cases and managing the field-based team. A perfect opportunity for a qualified Advocate with leadership experience, who has represented in Employment Tribunals and EAT. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the team and the throughput of work, managing consultants' performance to ensure they meet quality and performance standards while maintaining a high standard of service provision to clients.
We are looking for candidates who are confident, articulate, and legally qualified, with direct employment law experience. There is a strong focus on delivering high standards of care and service to our clients, and we are looking for someone with good communication skills and high professional standards.
Key Responsibilities as an Employment Tribunal Manager:
1. Oversee the work of the team and ensure that the service is delivered to a high quality, that hearings are covered, tribunal and other deadlines are met, and resources are utilised efficiently and effectively.
2. Carry a small tribunal caseload and, when necessary, cover additional hearings to meet urgent client or tribunal deadlines.
3. Carry a small EAT caseload and liaise with Counsel on those cases as necessary.
4. Build and maintain a cohesive and motivated team, providing leadership and support to colleagues and peers.
5. Performance manage all Consultants, identifying training needs and ensuring necessary training is provided.
6. Conduct formal meetings such as disciplinary or grievance meetings and provide outcomes in line with the Employee Handbook.
7. Effectively manage all team absences/sickness and ensure adherence to the RTW process.
8. Manage all intermittent and long-term absences and lateness, recording and addressing persistent lateness.
9. Assist and support the Associate Director of Legal with investigations into client or personnel issues.
10. Deal with complaints and service issues in a timely manner ensuring satisfactory resolutions.
11. Manage and address technical queries and escalate where necessary.
12. Be flexible with work times, addressing staff issues outside of core hours when necessary.
Person Specification
1. Relevant practical experience, including advising and supporting clients in employment law matters and conducting tribunal hearings.
2. Relevant leadership experience in managing a team providing professional services.
3. A "can-do" attitude, thirst for knowledge, and effective communication skills.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
5. Ability to prioritise and work unsupervised as required.
6. Excellent communication and writing skills.
7. Enthusiasm for generating new business referrals.
8. MS Office knowledge and experience.
9. Hold a full valid driving licence.
