SENIOR ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
Our client, a reputable and established building services company, is looking for a Senior Electrical Estimator and offering wages of up to £62k.
Job Role/Responsibilities:
1. Managerial skills to develop and lead an electrical estimating team.
2. Ability to manage and track multiple electrical tenders simultaneously.
3. Lead communication with clients and customer base, ensuring all requirements are met/mitigated to their satisfaction.
4. Review issued specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents, as well as tender clarifications and updates for the respective clients.
5. On-site liaison with client/customer undertaking the relevant site survey and review.
6. Analysis and evaluation of potential project risk on both commercial and deliverable aspects.
7. Preparation of accurate pricing estimates with the proper level of detail, including labour, material, and subcontract items.
8. Analysis and scrutiny of supplier and subcontractor quotations.
9. Collation of multi-discipline data to assist future evolution of tender process, identifying areas of weakness and strength.
10. Identify and present value engineering opportunities for cost-saving measures to accompany tender submissions.
11. Attend project site tender meetings, site reviews, and post-tender interviews as required.
12. Allocation of electrical estimating team labour to each tender opportunity and management throughout the submission process.
13. Manage, support, and assist with the training of the estimating staff.
14. Ensure that all tender submissions are comprehensively reviewed and qualified correctly.
15. Determining type, quantity, cost of materials and fixtures needed for each project.
16. Regular review & evolution of the company's estimating documentation, making sure this is up to date with rates.
17. Weekly team meetings and tender reports.
18. Generation and issue of handover documentation for secured projects ahead of meetings with the projects team.
Skills Needed:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
2. Experience in presenting tenders to clients on behalf of the company.
3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel/Word & Outlook).
4. Strong understanding of both the residential and commercial construction sectors.
5. The ability to read tender specifications, and drawings and produce detailed pricing cost plans.
6. The ability to self-manage time and workloads and multitask various projects sequentially.
7. Experience in a similar position.
8. Ability to liaise and converse with clients in a professional manner.
9. Full UK driver's license.
