and main responsibilities
1. To provide refreshments to patients and relatives attending the day unit for anti-cancer treatment.
2. To receive, welcome and guide visitors coming onto unit, liaising with other staff as appropriate.
3. To act as a ward contact point for the catering department.
4. Check all food items held in kitchen to ensure good practice with stock rotation. Dispose of any items that have exceeded their designated use by date.
5. To collect medications and chemotherapy from pharmacy.
6. Delivery of samples and items within the hospital.
7. To ensure the ward is clean and safe for patients and staff.
8. Be responsible for ensuring the ward is fully stocked, including the nursing trolleys. That equipment is in date, stored correctly and store areas tidy.
9. Completing fridge temperature audits and escalating concerns to ward lead.
10. To be responsible for keeping linen stocked in both cupboard and trolley.
