Our Client who operates as a National Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking to appoint a Staff Site Engineer to cover site engineering duties on Water Projects across the Yorkshire Region. Right to work in the UK needs to already be held.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offering technical advice on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives
2. Overseeing building work and ensuring the quality of the work
3. Setting out, levelling and surveying the site
4. Producing a 2-week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent
5. Producing site diaries and allocation sheets
6. Production of ITP check sheets in line with the ITP and specification
7. Ensuring the plans, drawings and quantities are accurate for calculations
8. Supervising site security, health and safety
9. Organising and overseeing material and human resources
10. Managing the design documents supplied by the client
11. Planning the work efficiently and adapting to any setbacks or difficulties
12. Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
13. Ensuring work is delivered defect/snag free
Collaborative Working:
To work collaboratively with the client and wider project delivery team ensuring effective and timely communications, proactively managing the expectations of the client.
Key Measures and Targets:
1. Accurate and timely setting out of works
2. Timely handover of works and quality records without outstanding defects
3. Production of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly diaries
Person Specification:
The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential:
1. Experience setting out on Civil Engineering projects
2. Knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations
3. Specific experience with drainage, earthworks, structures, and water
4. CSCS Card
5. Cable avoidance training
6. Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
7. Able to communicate well at all levels
Desirable:
1. Some experience with AutoCAD
2. Temporary works Co-ordination
3. Degree qualified in civil engineering or HNC or equivalent in civil engineering as a minimum
4. NEBOSH or IOSH
