What youll doUnder the guidance of the lead matron, the post holder will contribute to delivering the managerial and professional support on a day to day basis to all the nursing / AHP staff and ensure the smooth running of the department to achieve both excellent clinical care whilst also supporting the delivery of key national performance metrics. You will need to possess the ability to work as a key decision maker alongside the multi professional team ensuring the safe implementation of nursing strategy within the department in accordance with research, policy, national standards and the NMC Code. The role is designed to facilitate ongoing clinical practice for the Matron, ensuring that leadership is demonstrated in practice. Alongside the lead Matron you will be key in leading from within the team which is a key strategy in helping us further develop our approach to excellent care. What were looking forAs a Matron for the Emergency Department you will work closely with the lead Matron, Senior Nurses, Consultant Leads, Directors of Major Trauma, Matrons, the Care Group Manager and the Divisional Head of Nursing. You will help support the lead Matron on all aspects of clinical care and be focused on patient safety, experience and quality assurance frameworks. You must be able to demonstrate a compassionate approach to the care of patients and the public, whilst also possessing the ability to ensure robust clinical operational demands are met while the multi professional team are fully supported in achieving their duties.The successful applicant will hold significant experience at band 6 or above in a busy Emergency Department, A proven track record in leadership within emergency care is essential as are excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills.If you are a confident, well organised, strong, visible nurse leader with high standards, excellent clinical skills and knowledge with extensive experience of working within emergency care services who thrives in a busy and diverse clinical environment then we would like to hear from you.
