Shifts: Mon-Sat ( early shift 7:30am-3:30pm or late shift 12:30pm-8:30pm)

Salary: £22,406 - £23,576 per annum, depending on experience + benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)
We are currently recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at The Wilmslow Hospital .
At the Wilmslow Hospital, we diagnose and treat a range of conditions using some of the most advanced technology in the region, from our 3T MRI scanner to our state-of-the-art laminar flow operating theatres.
The hospital is made up of 13 consultant rooms; a full diagnostic imaging suite; 2 operating theatres and a dedicated women’s health unit. The Outpatients Department services a wide range of specialities, within which the post holder will develop skills.
As the Healthcare Assistant, under the direction of the registered nurse, you will carry out observations, investigations and basic treatments as required. You will also oversee chaperoning of patients and assisting medical staff with day-to-day duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Greet patients, visitors, consultants and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.
2. Assist with patient care requirements under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assess patient’s condition through basic measurements.
3. Maintain stock control and careful use of equipment
4. Ensuring patient comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times and are specific to the patients’ needs.
5. Chaperoning patients and required equipment as necessary for appointments and clinic.
6. Ensure strict confidentiality is applied to all clients and staff, ensuring need to know basis is always applied.
7. Communicate care to patients, their family and/or carers using appropriate language and rationale
8. Assist in theatre and Recovery and other ultra sounded guided procedures
9. Under Direction develop skills in the instruction, advice and care of patients throughout their treatment process
10. Assists the registered nurse with appropriate clinical documentation
11. Carry out with accuracy other duties as instructed by your line manager
12. Reports any concerns to the trained nurse in charge of the patient
13. Decontamination of instruments and clinical equipment

What you’ll bring:
14. Phlebotomy for this role is essential
15. IT literate
16. Previous experience in Healthcare Assistant experience within a hospital setting is essential
