About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a pivotal role in assisting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive tailored support to thrive in an inclusive educational setting. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plans and foster a supportive learning atmosphere that encourages independence and confidence. SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs). Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, adapting support strategies to meet individual needs. Aid in the development of students’ social, emotional and communication skills. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external specialists to deliver effective interventions. Use patience, empathy and positive reinforcement to support student progress. Ensure the safety, well-being and engagement of pupils in both classroom and extracurricular activities. Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must: Have previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role. Possess a relevant qualification in Education, SEN, or Child Development (desirable but not essential). Demonstrate an understanding of SEN strategies, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and other additional needs. Be a compassionate and patient individual, able to provide a nurturing approach to learning. Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with staff, students and parents effectively. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
