To work autonomously within a team, providing full organisational support to the consultant's practice and their team. To ensure procedures and working practices are in place so that the speciality and Trust can deliver a service that meets the standards and targets that have been set. To provide a considerate, patient focussed service in all dealings with patients and with staff around the hospital and throughout the whole system.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for an organised and passionate Administrator to join our busy Gynaecology department at Royal Surrey Hospital. This role will play a crucial part of ensuring patients are moving seamlessly through their patient pathway and receiving an excellent level of patient care.
This person will need to be organised, hardworking and passionate about providing outstanding patient care. An understanding of NHS processes, specifically outpatient clinics, would be a bonus.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent including English
* RSA II or equivalent in word processing/audio typing
* RSA III, Medical secretarial qualification (BSMS Certificate) or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
* Demonstrates the ability to prioritise workload and to adapt effectively to changing priorities
* Evidence of establishing and maintaining effective filing systems
* Advanced keyboard and audio typing skills
* Working knowledge of Word, email and internet
* Working knowledge of a range of software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, and locally used databases
* Excellent telephone manner
* Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology
* Knowledge of NHS priorities and understanding of the guidelines and targets in own area of work (*)
* Excellent spelling and grammar
* Working knowledge of the Trust Patient Administration System (OASIS) (*) Knowledge of medical terminology
* Experience of working in a busy environment
* Experience of dealing with the general public
* Experience of mentoring, training or supervising others. Awareness and understanding of NHS issues
* Experience in using patient administration systems
* Experience of working in a large complex organisation and a multidisciplinary environment
