UK General Manager, Print Finishing Equipment Global manufacturer and supplier of offline & inline bespoke print finishing systems and associated equipment, seeks a dynamic General Manager to lead and drive their UK operations. A major player in it’s market, this Business has built an enviable reputation for extremely high quality innovation, product design & specification, alongside a strong commercial proposition and exceptional customer focussed service capabilities, so whilst they currently secure a strong share of the total UK market, one of your key remits will be to develop and drive a strategic sales plan that realises the Company’s future growth objectives. Possessing the strategic intelligence & people leadership skills to further cement their overriding passion and capability for delivering exceptional products & customer care, you must have proven experience of being genuinely ‘hands on’ in a diversely specified manufacturing Business and able to demonstrate a track record of close/transparent working with a dedicated & innovative Production team. You will be accustomed to leading senior level sales at the Client interface, commercially astute and an immediately recognisable ‘value add’ negotiator, through a sales focussed leadership track record within a bespoke manufacturing environment (ideally with some Print, Paper or Packaging industry exposure). It is a true leadership remit, so you must reside within a reasonable proximity or commute to their Milton Keynes HQ and you will be supported by key members of the senior team, including Heads of Sales, Production & Finance, with responsibilities that encompass the following; Reporting to the Group CEO, you will have full responsibility for delivering the UK Operations performance in line with Group objectives. Develop and deliver an enhanced sales strategy in line with the UK business’ growth objectives. Originate and agree sales and gross profit targets. Identify, research & develop new markets and products, shaping an ongoing approach to secure and deliver sustainable profitable growth. Lead, motivate and empower the Heads of Sales, Service & Production to effectively deliver & exceed objectives. Work collaboratively to optimise performance, ensuring policies are robust and aligned with both the business’ objectives and the expectations/demands of Distribution partners & end user Clients. Relevant Work Experience Proven senior level Sales & wider Business leadership experience gained within a bespoke manufacturing organisation, ideally, with a technical working understanding of the Printing equipment/industry, or a broader exposure to the OEM market is equally desirable. Must Have Skills Strong strategic direction & leadership skills, able to work closely with a good management team (not a lone ranger) Strong communication & presentation skills, combining energy, ambition, passion & an ethos that engages people at all levels Highly effective verbal & written communication, combined with a proven ability to understand & innovate current market strategy Commercially sound (robust price and margin management) Possess the recognition & ability to deliver value streams direct to end users &/or via distribution partners, through all aspects of the supply chain (reading the market upstream and downstream / maximising opportunities) High level of expertise and knowledge in Business fundamentals In a Business that values the ability to challenge the norm, you must be self-motivated with a proven capacity to drive new ideas & developments forward.
