Job Description
* Responsibility for month end postings including but not limited to; payroll, timesheets, VAT and income.
* Ensure the integrity of the UK financial accounts by supporting in the completion of monthly checks.
* Support in the preparation and review of timely balance sheet reconciliations.
* Providing support and guidance on all Tax related matters including VAT, Gift Aid and Corporation Tax.
* Preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT return.
* Assisting budget holders on any VAT related queries.
* Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
* Liaising with internal and external auditors.
* Implementing and monitoring internal financial controls.
* Identifying opportunities for financial improvement and efficiency.
* Collaborating with other team members to achieve departmental objectives.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
* Working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
* Proven experience of working within the Not for Profit sector is essential for this role.
* Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
* Proficiency in financial software applications.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
