Role: Kitchen Assistant Location: Silksworth Hours : Bank/Zero hour Pay Rate: £11.44 The Abbeyfield Society are a national charity helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people by providing companionship in our supported housing accommodation, retirement apartments and care homes. You can never underestimate the power a friendly face and a home cooked meal has on someone’s day. This is a varied role, with resident wellbeing at the forefront of what we do. As a Kitchen Assistant your tasks will include - Keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic Managing incoming deliveries and the correct storage of goods Working alongside the Cook to provide healthy meals to our residents To be responsible for the daily use of catering equipment, monitoring usage and reporting any issues Completing food and drink preparation and transporting prepared food to the relevant dining area to be served. Our ideal candidate for Kitchen Assistant will have the following qualities- A cheerful and friendly demeanour Understand the needs of older people Organised and Proactive Has a Level 3 Food Safety certificate or willing to undertake through Abbeyfield.
