About the Institute of Healthcare Engineering (IHE)
The Institute of Healthcare Engineering (IHE) connects engineering with health and clinical scientists across UCL and the UCL Hospitals in order to develop fundamental engineering tools and use them to develop translatable healthcare engineering solutions to clinical problems.
About the role
This is a senior role providing support to staff working with the Institute of Healthcare Engineering, and located within the Professional Services team of the Engineering Sciences Faculty Office.
The role will be directed by and work closely with the Vice Dean Health and the Director of Institute of Healthcare Engineering.
This role will provide strategic and operational support, acting as the primary point of contact to facilitate relationships and develop funding opportunities with teams responsible for research, translation, healthcare and industry.
The postholder will maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of the areas of expertise of colleagues, awareness of funding opportunities available, and will demonstrate the ability to draw together teams across disciplinary boundaries.
This post is being offered on a Hybrid/On-Site First basis, meaning that the successful candidate will be required to be on-site during 20-80% of their working hours.
About you
We are looking for someone with an undergraduate science/health-related degree or substantial relevant experience, who also has an understanding of the NHS policy and funding environment.
The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills consistent with understanding scientific and engineering research.
An essential requirement is experience of developing effective relationships with external agencies and internal staff to influence direction of research.
