In our Sudbury factory, the circa 200 strong workforce produce some of the UK’s most popular brands including Go-Cat, Bakers, Purina ONE, BETA and Pro Plan providing consumers with a product to meet their every need.
A day in the life of an Operations Planner …
The Operations Planner is responsible for preparing and maintaining a coordinated set of supply, deployment & capacity plans for Sudbury Finished Goods in order to meet customer demand within appropriate stock levels, whilst minimising total delivered costs of production, distribution and inventory.
You’ll also:
* Provide visibility and communicate capacity over or under utilisation, as well as supporting decision making by providing simulated alternative supply scenarios that balance available capacity and demand.
* Ensure supply & availability of products to fulfil deliveries on time, at the right place with the correct freshness, while trying to minimize Working Capital and Total Delivered Cost.
* Establish and periodically review stock policies for NPPE Finished Goods using the right tools and processes.
* Work closely with UK demand planners responsible for NPPE to manage shared objectives (e.g., COF, on time availability to grasp commercial opportunities, etc.).
* Provide the Generating Demand teams with inputs regarding stock availability, and exceptions that may impact business performance.
* Provide fast, appropriate actions to minimize the impact of supply risks - shortages and excess stocks and communicate the actions to the respective Stakeholders.
* Regularly review opportunities for network optimization within Europe.
* Monitor and analyse DSP performance using the appropriate measures and tools.
* Contribute to I&R projects with flawless planning and execution of Supply Planning tasks.
* Actively participate in NPPE DSP and Market DSP activities to support business results at regional and Market level.
What will make you successful?
As the successful candidate, you will ideally be of graduate caliber (or equivalent) and have previous experience within Supply Chain. If you come from a forecasting or planning background, this would be an added advantage.
You will have the ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines and be able to achieve results and make an impact whilst building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
* Proven track record in Supply Chain/Operations, ideally in FMCG or Factory environment ideally planning and work logistics.
* Evidence of working with multiple Stakeholders varying in seniority and working across the globe.
* Showing evidence of project tracking, deadlines are adhered to and identifying risks and opportunities to projects.
* Evidence of recognizing and delivering business priorities.
* The ability to work across teams, collaborate, negotiate and focus on the end goals to deliver the business demands.
* Good knowledge of SAP (R/3) APO – Essential.
* Microsoft Power BI would be ideal but not essential.
