About the role
Haringey Council is currently seeking a Solutions Architect to become part of their Digital and Change Business Unit within the Culture, Strategy and Engagement Directorate. We are in search of a dedicated and passionate individual who can bring their skills and expertise to the team. As a Solutions Architect, the successful candidate will be responsible for working across a range of digital projects, advising on and overseeing the designing of digitally focused application architecture across the council, underpinning strategic outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
* Responsible for the technical vision for business systems aligned to the overall systems architecture of the council and ensuring we are meeting the needs of our residents, staff and businesses.
* Create detailed blueprints to meet specific business requirements and to ensure software projects align with overall business strategy and technology standards.
* Design large or complex systems, covering for example: objectives, scope, hardware, legislative standards, network and software environments, main system functions and information flows, data load, relevant strategies, phasing of development, requirements not met, and alternatives considered.
* Conduct reviews and evaluate supplier specifications with others as necessary. Take part in evaluations and reviews of development practices, tools, and standards.
* Design and review the council’s application architecture roadmap using local government experience and technical expertise.
* Establish and build strong relationships with third-party suppliers and be active within their communities.
* Ensure the council IT architecture enables security of information systems by encouraging adherence to ICT policies.
* Play a key role in the design, procurement, development, deployment, testing, and maintenance of digital services.
* Provide leadership and recommendations on the overarching solution architecture for the Digital Team.
* Deputize for the Enterprise Architect where required.
About you
We are looking for individuals who can work effectively in small teams on a day-to-day basis. The job involves working in all weather conditions, but our teams are dedicated to making the local environment a pleasant place to visit, no matter what.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
* An excellent understanding of the fundamentals of software development and a range of agile delivery techniques, tools, and software (Jira).
* Ability to make decisions and deliver under pressure.
* Proactive and results-oriented, creative and innovative in finding solutions to complex problems.
* Solid experience using database structured query language (SQL).
* Knowledge and experience of javascript, jquery, HTML, CSS, Forms.
* An excellent understanding of API development, documentation, and best practices.
* Knowledge on Virtualization and Cloud technologies including Azure integration stacks (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, API Mgt., Service bus, etc.).
* Understanding of designing, developing and implementing technical solutions in Microsoft Azure and .NET software applications and solutions.
