Casual Funeral Service Operative 0-Hours (Hours are as and when, dependant on business needs) Location: Chaplin Road Care Centre, Wembley Hourly Rate: £14.20 per hour Chaplin Road Care Centre, Wembley | Supporting Communities Across North West London We are seeking Funeral Service Operatives to join our dedicated team at Chaplin Road Care Centre in Wembley on a casual basis, offering compassionate and professional support to families across North West London. In this role, you will primarily assist with ceremonial duties during peak periods, while also contributing to bringing the deceased into our care as needed. Funeral Service Operatives play a vital role in ensuring every family feels supported during difficult times, delivering exceptional service with empathy and professionalism. Our casual contracts offer flexibility, enabling you to arrange hours around your other work or life commitments. However, flexibility is key to support our clients effectively when needed. What We’re Looking For: While no previous industry experience is required, we are looking for individuals who: Are passionate about supporting people in their local community. Deliver excellent customer service with compassion and care. Approach their work with professionalism and enthusiasm. This role is ideal for someone who: Holds a full UK manual driving license. Is physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy weights in line with manual handling procedures. Has strong ties or familiarity with the local community. Shows composure, reliability, and empathy in sensitive situations. Is well-presented, professional, and committed to high standards. What a Typical Day May Include Assisting with bringing the deceased into our care. Preparing and maintaining funeral fleet vehicles to an excellent standard of cleanliness. Participating in coffining duties, including trimming coffins/caskets and dressing the deceased as appropriate. Bearing the coffin and driving company vehicles as part of the funeral service. Supporting the Funeral Director with pre-funeral checks, such as route planning and address verification.
