Are you a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a new challenge? We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic team at Walton on Thames Vets for Pets.
About us
You’ll be joining a team of 6 vets, 2 RVNs and 2 SVNs who are all supported by our incredible 4 non-clinical colleagues. We encourage everyone in our team to further their learning, offering support with both CPD courses and certificates. Dr Roger Bralow, one of our practice owners, holds a surgical certificate and is currently undertaking a certificate in advanced cardiology, whilst our second practice owner, Dr Marina Berkett, is currently completing an exotics certificate. Alongside this, one of our RVNs is currently completing a certificate in laboratory processes.
We have recently acquired equipment to begin offering our clients laparoscopic procedures and to aid in this, and to improve general patient care, we now have a multiparameter. The practice has a dental x-ray machine, and we have an orthopaedic surgeon who regularly visits the practice to carry out advanced orthopaedic procedures for our patients.
About you
We are looking for an experienced RVN with a passion for all things clinical to join our quirky and close-knit team. Nurses are the heart of our practice and perform an integral clinical role in caring for our patients. You’ll have great communication and organisation skills and take pride working closely as part of a team to provide high standard patient care. The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the Veterinary Nurse role, delivering excellent patient and client care.
About the role
This opportunity is for a full-time role working with a variety of species and for the right candidate there is a potential for a more senior role within the nursing team. Your rota would be working 5 days per week, 1:4 Saturdays, and following your Saturday shift, you would have the Monday off. We are closed on Sundays and work shorter shifts on bank holidays.
We want to ensure you feel fulfilled and are able to utilise your full skill set, offering varied shift roles, from anaesthetics to in-patients to consults. Multiple opportunities to undertake schedule 3 nursing procedures can be provided, should this be within your area of interest.
Our nurses are an invaluable part of our team, and are respected as such, being included in conversations surrounding the day to day running of the practice, alongside the care and treatment we are providing patients.
Benefits
By joining us you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing superb standards of client and animal care. Alongside our clinical support, we can also offer you an excellent benefits package that includes:
1. Competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 - we are also open to discussions for higher depending on level of experience.
2. Generous CPD with support for Certificates.
3. Contributory pension scheme.
4. Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS and BVA).
5. Exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at any Pets at Home, The Groom Room and the Vet Group across the country.
At Walton on Thames Vets4Pets, we truly embrace and prioritise a diverse and inclusive work environment, helping colleagues to further their clinical careers whilst maintaining a fun and supportive atmosphere. If you think this role might be for you, we would love to hear from you today!
