What skills and experience we're looking for
Do you want to make a real impact? Do you have a love or reading and understand the fundamental difference that reading makes to the life chances of young people? Can you inspire young people to develop their reading fluency and comprehension?
We are looking to appoint an energetic co-ordinator of reading. You will plan and deliver interventions to pupils in Key Stage 3 who have been identified as requiring additional support to make rapid progress in reading. The post will also include developing reading for pleasure strategies for our keen readers.
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for working with young people and who is committed to ensuring that all children make the best possible progress during their time at Toynbee. Experience in delivering reading teaching in a primary setting would be an advantage.
Our core aim is to provide young people with the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and confidence which are necessary to enable them to make informed choices for themselves.
