Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Speech & Language Therapist to manage and lead the Paediatric service here in Powys Teaching Health Board. We are offering a permanent 1.0 whole time equivalent position. Full time and part time hours will be considered.
You will be responsible for managing, leading and developing the paediatric service here in Powys. We are a friendly team who welcomes passion, patient centred initiatives and evidence-based practice. We are seeking a strong clinical lead and aspiring manager, who has a clear vision to implement service improvement projects, manage staff and support the delivery of our community Speech and Language Therapy service.
You will be responsible for day-to-day line management of staff, implementation of service improvement projects and All Wales pathways, and ensuring the team delivers a high quality, efficient and effective service to the children and young people in Powys.

Main duties of the job:
1. Responsible for the operational management and delivery of the paediatric speech and language therapy service.
2. Contribute to the departments audit and training plans, and workforce and succession planning.
3. Manage key performance indicators such as RTT and ALN compliance within paediatric speech and language therapy.
4. Responsible for clinical governance issues including risk assessments, investigating incidents and resolving complaints.
5. Develop and improve service pathways to ensure the service is offering a high quality, efficient and effective service.
6. Identify training needs of the Speech and Language Therapy staff, carers, and other professionals, and develop training as required.

Qualifications:
* Recognised qualification degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered
* Evidence of relevant training at post graduate training
* Knowledge of a wide range of assessment tools relevant to area of clinical expertise
* Evidence of successful completion of training / specialist short courses up to master's degree or equivalent relevant to clinical area
* Clinical supervision experience
* Knowledge and application of standardised assessments
* Knowledge and involvement in audit and research
Experience:
* Significant demonstrable experience in area of clinical specialism
* Experience of clinical leadership
* Involvement in clinical audit
* Significant demonstrable experience of providing clinical supervision
