Role will require regular travel throughout the UK
The Role
Working closely with the functional operational teams, providing long term operations and maintenance management, strategic and analytical support coupled with commercial/financial, contract provisions and stakeholder management relating to the onshore wind, solar and BESS assets within the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Environmental leadership
* Providing exemplary HSE leadership.
* Leading incident investigations and reporting requirements.
* Ensuring all assets are compliant with relevant legislative and internal safety process requirements.
* Manage site compliance register.
Commercial and Financial
* Supporting in tendering activity making sure strategy is realistic and correct and risk analysis is implemented.
* Preparing, reviewing, managing and reporting on the Medium Term Plan and ensuring budgets are justified and well delivered.
* Preparing investment proposals / business cases.
* Management of contracts from concept through to specification, tendering, performance and close-out and ensuring all activities are in adherence with Contractual Governance best practice.
* Managing insurance claims.
* Managing the production of regular reports highlighting financial performance, risk and technical issues (Accruals, Management Reports).
* Responding to challenges and leading to resolve issues arising from the legal requirements for the continued operations of onshore windfarms with regards to planning consents, habitat management, land owner negotiations.
* Manage landlord duties for properties within the UK portfolio.
* Consolidation of KPIs.
* Supporting negotiations and ensuring delivery of obligations of PPA's and other commercial terms/contracts on site.
Technical and Performance
* Preparing and reviewing O&M plans/asset management strategy for new projects to optimise P&L over the life of the asset.
* Lead problem solving activities across the fleet, focusing on safety, increased availability and delivering increased EBITDA.
* Manage & lead improvement projects for assets across the portfolio to mitigate risk and capitalise on opportunities (WTG reliability, output, modifications and upgrades).
* Developing internal and external networks to ensure awareness of industry best practices and to implement such when beneficial to the business.
* Taking responsibility for a fleet wide technical/safety subject:
* Life Extension
* Engineering Governance/Engineering Risk Management
* Safety Rules Governance Boards
* End of Warranty Process/Warranty claims
* Site Decommissioning projects
* Engineering Quality Management E.g. Component Refurbishment
Requirements
* Relevant Degree or technical qualification as a minimum.
* Extensive proven experience working in the Energy Industry preferably renewables with a demonstrable history of Asset Management and Operations.
* Experience of operating within safety, environmental and operational policies, frameworks and statutory legislation.
* Strong leadership, people management and coaching skills, leading local and international teams.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing & negotiating skills with a successful demonstrable history.
* Strong commercial change management and business improvement skills; recognised deliverer.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Highly skilled in preparing, reviewing and managing budgets.
* Sound working knowledge of project finance documents and financial reporting.
* Highly competent in understanding and solving contractual, commercial, financial and technical issues.
* Highly competent in reviewing and reassessing priorities in response to challenging situations and deadlines.
* Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.
* Excellent Problem-Solving skills, resilience and tenacity.
* Conscientious and detail conscious with a widely recognised eye for detail.
* Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Sound understanding of electricity market in the UK and challenges that face the renewables energy industry.
* Ability to challenge the work of others in an effective but sensitive manner.
* Confident presenting, communicating and building strong networks at all levels and in all types of situations.
