London, UK
Start date: From April 2025
About the role
We are seeking a talented and motivated EICA (Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in the design, installation, and commissioning of control systems and instrumentation at our UK West London Pilot Plant and Netherlands Demonstration Plant. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, combining technical expertise with problem-solving skills in a dynamic startup environment.
We are looking for someone ready to quickly integrate themselves into the team and enhance the design and commissioning of Itero’s technologies. You will have the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team. The successful applicant should have experience in successfully taking control systems, special purpose machinery and instrumentation through design and commissioning processes, within budget and on schedule.
The role will be flexibly based between Itero’s Central London office, our West London Pilot Plant (in Iver), and home as required, and will require at least 2 days per week on site on average with occasional more frequent attendance e.g. for equipment commissioning. This role also includes regular travel to UK/EU manufacturing sites and our upcoming Demonstration Plant in the Netherlands (near Maastricht) as needed.
About Itero
This is an exciting opportunity to join a clean technology company helping to build a circular economy for plastics. Our proprietary technology is a process for chemical recycling, a growing and innovative part of the recycling and plastics industries. Chemical recycling, sometimes also called advanced recycling, converts otherwise non-recyclable plastic waste into valuable petrochemical resources to produce new plastic products. Alongside our UK R&D pilot plant near Heathrow Airport we are developing our Demonstration Plant in the Netherlands, which will be capable of processing up to 27,000 tonnes per year of mixed plastic waste.
Our cleantech solutions are powered by a group of ambitious and innovative thinkers, with a shared passion for tackling the most pressing environmental issues. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing team in a fast-growing industry. This role would suit a self-starter with a passion for clean technology and the circular economy, who wants to have a central role in shaping Itero’s direction and growth.
