Student Placement - Pharmaceutical Technical Operations Team
We are looking for a student to join us by the beginning of August 2025 for 12 months for a student placement at our Cramlington site.

During your twelve-month placement you will be working within the Technical Operations department supporting our manufacturing and packaging operations. The Pharmaceutical Technical Operations function works closely with the wider business, including departments on site and off, to support our tablet formulation, manufacturing and blister packaging processes. The team offers technical guidance and support to maintain, improve and support manufacturing/packaging processes. You will be part of a team instrumental in validation strategy for in-line products at the site, technical transfer of new sources of materials, product compliance, process troubleshooting and improvement. We are a multidisciplinary site and you will build and work with cross-functional teams across areas including Production, Engineering and Quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical support for all processes involved in the manufacture and packaging of solid dose oral products on site.
2. Implement process improvement projects.
3. Assist with process and cleaning validations, validation protocols and in-process validation sampling.
4. Undertake annual product and cleaning reviews.
5. Assist with reviews of equipment performance, selection, installation and operational testing of new equipment.
6. Assist with investigations and follow up issues arising from manufacturing, packaging or laboratory atypical results, establish assignment causes for atypical processing events and propose appropriate actions to minimise rework and improve capability.
7. Comply with the standards in the company policies, procedures, guidelines and standard operating procedures.
8. Assess downstream impact to site as a result of supplier changes.
9. Assist in the successful introduction of new product to site via technical assessment and project support.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
As a student on placement working within our Engineering team you will need to comply with Organon's Corporate and Regulatory guidelines, such as the following:
1. Compliance with our Company’s Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and adhering and executing Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.
2. Attending and successfully completing applicable GMP training, including training in local operating procedures.
3. Ensuring you are suitably trained to perform your job.
4. Ensuring that this training is accurately recorded in your training record.
5. Ensuring that your job is performed in accordance with the training and in compliance with procedures relevant to the role/activity.
6. Bringing to the attention of management any violation in cGMPs and/or other concerns which may affect the safety, efficacy, or purity of our Company’s product.
Education & Skills:
1. You will be looking to complete a 12-month placement in your third or penultimate year of study, returning to your course at the end of the placement.
2. Studying a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) or equivalent qualification.
3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
4. Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to build relationships and trust at all levels and with diverse stakeholders.
5. Excellent problem solving and innovating skills.
6. Team player, learning from and helping others overcome obstacles.
7. Display excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines.

Application Process:
Stage 1 – Submission of CV and Cover Letter
Candidates will be required to submit their CV and cover letter (no more than 400 words in cover letter).
Stage 2 – Initial Informal Discussion (about October/November 2024)
Candidates will be selected and invited to take part in an initial informal discussion about the role, as well as an opportunity for you to find out about the company.
Stage 3 – Assessment Centre + Final Interview (November 2024)
Those candidates successful at stage 2 will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre, located on site at Cramlington. Candidates will spend a day at the facility, getting a feel for Organon as well as taking part in several activities including a site tour and a final interview.
