Specialist Cardiac Radiographer - Band 6

We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Specialised Cardiac Radiographer, based within the Cardiac Cath Lab environment, covering EP, pacing, structural, and coronary intervention cases.
BHC is one of the largest cardiac centres in the world, utilising state-of-the-art equipment, with 9 Siemens Catheter Labs, a Philips structural heart lab and Philips hybrid theatre with plans for expansion, leading the way in world-first procedures using the latest technological advances and undertaking ground-breaking research and live broadcasting of cases for educational meetings and congresses, with opportunities to get involved.
As part of this fast-paced, exciting role, you would be a key member of the MDT, offering life-changing, life-saving diagnosis and treatment to patients from London and beyond. The Cath Labs provide 24-hour Heart Attack and Arrhythmia services via 3 call systems. The working pattern is comprised of 4x 9.5hr shifts per week, with optional weekend lists on staff bank. Our highly specialised Radiography team will provide excellent training, mentoring, and support for the successful applicants. We actively support staff wellbeing, CPD participation, and additional training opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The aim of this role is to work as a specialist in Cardiac Cath Lab Radiography and be responsible for providing high-quality, safe and effective Imaging services within Cardiac Catheter Labs to enable the delivery of electrophysiology, pacing, structural, and coronary intervention cases. The post holder will work closely with Radiographers, students, and clinical staff of all grades in the multi-disciplinary team to provide safe, prompt, and effective imaging, whilst ensuring effective radiation protection at all times, therefore resulting in minimal radiation doses to staff and patients.

Person Specification
Qualifications
1. BSc or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography
2. HCPC State Registration
3. Post Graduate specialist training.
Experience
1. Demonstrable evidence of expert Cardiac radiographic experience.
2. Experience of working with junior staff and students.
3. Minimum of two years' practical Cardiac Cath Lab Radiography experience post qualification
4. Experience in pursuing innovation and role development in Cardiac radiography.
5. Experience in more than one hospital.
6. Evidence of advanced knowledge in Cardiac Radiographic Imaging/ procedure
Knowledge
1. Portfolio of evidence of advanced professional development/training and education for Cardiac Radiography.
2. Evidence that knowledge of Cardiac imaging techniques is up to date.
3. Evidence of the ability to critically analyse Cardiac radiography practice and role development/training potential.
4. Post graduate specialist training.
