Job overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Driver Training Team Leader to join our team. In this critical role, you will contribute to the development of organisational strategies, policies, procedures, and frameworks for the Trust’s driver education and training.
You will oversee the delivery, evaluation, and supervision of high-quality driver education and training programmes, ensuring compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements.
The driver training team leaders will work collaboratively to manage the delivery of driver education and training programmes. Specific lead areas will also be allocated:

Band: Band 7 plus 9% Recruitment and Retention
Location: To be confirmed. The role requires support across the Trust footprint.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, flexible working required.
Main duties of the job
• Programme Management: Lead and manage the Trust’s driver education and training programmes, ensuring they meet statutory and business needs.
• Resource Coordination: Plan and manage human and physical resources for driver education and training, ensuring effective utilisation and adjusting plans as needed to meet delivery objectives.
• Training Needs Analysis: Conduct annual training needs analyses, prioritise learning needs, and develop a delivery plan in consultation with stakeholders.
• Policy Development: Contribute to the development of strategies, policies, and procedures for driver education and training and ensure their consistent implementation across the Trust.
• Record Keeping: Establish and maintain robust systems for recording driver education activities in line with organisational and statutory requirements.
• Compliance and Accreditation: Ensure compliance with external standards and maintain accreditation for relevant programmes, managing external assessments.
• Audit and Evaluation: Develop and implement auditing processes to evaluate training quality, effectiveness, and efficiency, and make necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes.
• Delivery of Training: Design, prepare, and deliver learning interventions, covering practical and theoretical aspects, to meet organisational and individual learning needs.

Working for our organisation
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications
* Hold a teaching/assessing qualification
* A proven record of training delivery
* Approved driving instructor (ADI)
* Hold Diploma in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instruction (DERADI)
* Full driving licence with C1 category
* Post-graduate level qualification or equivalent qualification and/or experience, supporting educational development, teaching, management
* Evidence of recent CPD

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to design and deliver training programmes and meet student learning objectives; including theory, practical delivery and assessment.
