Job Title: Deputy Manager - Learning Disabilities Location: Bedford, UK Salary: £28,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in Bedford, specializing in the care and support of individuals with learning disabilities and complex care needs in a residential setting. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of our residents. Key Responsibilities: - Leadership and Management: - Assist the Registered Manager in the overall management of the residential home, ensuring high standards of care and support. - Lead, mentor, and supervise the staff team, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment. - Ensure that all staff are adequately trained, supported, and motivated to deliver excellent care. - Deputize for the Registered Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity of care and management. - Care Delivery: - Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. - Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, making improvements where necessary. - Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements, including CQC standards. - Foster a person-centered approach to care, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for residents. - Administration and Record Keeping: - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all residents, staff, and activities within the home. - Assist in the management of budgets, resources, and supplies to ensure efficient operation of the home. - Participate in regular audits and inspections, implementing any required actions promptly. - Communication and Collaboration: - Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and external professionals. - Act as a key point of contact for any concerns or issues, ensuring they are addressed effectively and promptly. - Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic and coordinated care for residents. Qualifications and Experience: - NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is essential; NVQ Level 5 is desirable. - Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a learning disability and complex care residential setting. - Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and standards. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high standards of care. - Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
