An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Workforce Manager to join Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
In this role, you will be required to provide daily operational management and oversight for all medical workforce matters. The postholder will be the key link for medical staff of all grades and will be required to troubleshoot and resolve all issues that arise. Rotations, medical education, and vacancy management will be key, and the postholder will be required to oversee medical recruitment, appraisal, and revalidation.
The role will:
* Manage and oversee the medical education, including both undergraduate students and postgraduate rotations.
* Advise on medical NHS employment terms and conditions, medical workforce guidance, and best practice.
* Focus on supporting medical workforce productivity, deployment, medical temporary staffing (bank and agency), and effective medical recruitment.
* Work in close partnership with management teams and HR colleagues to support site-based medical workforce matters.
* Be responsible for managing the Medical Workforce Team.
Main duties of the job:
The post holder will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing a systematic and proactive approach to the delivery and management of medical workforce matters. This will require establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with key clinical and management staff within the divisions. It will also require delivery that is within agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, and cost constraints.
The post holder will provide expert advice, guidance, and support regarding Trust policies and procedures, National terms and conditions, and provide guidance on workforce planning and local and national developments in relation to the medical workforce.
They will also provide professional leadership to the Medical Workforce team and will contribute to their personal and professional development as appropriate.
The post holder will have a breadth of specialist medical workforce knowledge and experience for example, job planning, rotas including Working Time and contractual rules, trainee safe working and Lead Employer arrangements.
They will support the delivery of job planning, appraisal, revalidation, and rota management.

Essential:
* Post Graduate Degree qualification in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience, this may include a recognised Leadership & Management Qualification e.g., CMI level 7.
* ECDL/equivalent IT competencies.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
* Sound knowledge of NHS Hospital Medical & Dental Staff and 'Agenda for Change' terms and conditions and their application.
* Project management skills.
* Ability to analyse organisational and business needs, using diverse sources of information and significant experience of handling HR elements of organisational change projects.
* Able to demonstrate considerable practical knowledge of working positively within TU negotiating machinery.
* Able to demonstrate continued professional development.
Experience:
Essential:
* Significant management experience in a large organisation.
* Experience of working in an NHS or similar heavily unionised environment, negotiating with staff associations, trade unions, and staff side.
* Experience of preparing and presenting plans.
