About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a dynamic team involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The individual will be instrumental in managing various projects and mentoring the team. This role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in packaging and manufacturing projects, capable of inspiring and guiding younger staff members. The Senior Project Engineer will oversee project direction, coach best practices, and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the central figure of the project team, providing direction and mentoring junior staff.
* Guide the preparation of precise project budgets for new capital endeavors on a regular basis.
* Deliver and manage capital projects, emphasizing site services and equipment enhancements.
* Oversee contractors throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle.
* Offer training to team members on project management and engineering standards.
* Define and ensure the achievement of project milestones within set timelines and budgets.
* Review and validate design work submitted by external vendors.
* Ensure continuous upkeep and data management of project systems.
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds a degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent. A Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ or similar) is highly preferred.
* Substantial project engineering experience with familiarity in project management frameworks, including stage gates.
* Proven history of completing projects on schedule and within budget.
* Experience in a pharmaceutical setting is crucial.
* Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, capable of effectively communicating with and influencing senior management and external partners.
* Prior experience in overseeing contractors and drafting permits.
* Flexibility to travel to other sites within the UK as needed.
