As medical secretary you will be responsible for typing of referral letters, management of the choose and book system, manage and maintain the ERS work lists, chasing hospital results, attendance and minute taking of clinical meetings. Management of the E-RS (Choose & Book) system; generating UBRNs and dealing with all related queries. Ensure Doctors are informed of any new services available. Manage and maintain the ERS Worklists; provide audits as appropriate to ensure an effective turnaround of referrals and submissions. Attend meetings/training sessions as required. Typing of all non-hospital letters as required. Ensure the practice is using up to date referral forms, acquiring all revised pro-forma as necessary, and converting to EMIS templates where possible, using read codes for the purpose of extracting data from the computer. To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
