Overview

Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Examinations & Patient Care:
* Conduct thorough eye examinations and vision tests.
* Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, refractive errors, and other visual problems.
* Develop personalized treatment plans for patients, ensuring optimal eye health.
* Provide advice on eyewear, contact lenses, and general eye care.
* Operational Collaboration:
* Work closely with the optical team and support staff to ensure efficient practice operations.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the training and development of junior staff.
* Contribute to the enhancement of clinical services through innovative practices and service improvements.
* Record Keeping & Compliance:
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
* Stay updated with industry best practices and maintain necessary clinical accreditations (e.g., MECs or WECs accreditation, or a willingness to attain these within 12 months of joining).
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Registration & Accreditation:
* Fully qualified and registered optometrist with the General Optical Council (GOC).
* Registered performer with the NHS area team or relevant health board.
* MECs or WECs accreditation is desirable, or a commitment to achieving accreditation promptly upon employment.
* Experience:
* Previous experience in a clinical or high-paced retail optometry setting is advantageous.
* Demonstrable commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
