Cragston Court is a 20-bedded residential rehabilitation and recovery unit which cares for adults over the age of 18, who have enduring mental health needs.
Based in Blakelaw, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, service users are usually referred to us from psychiatric wards or from the community following a number of re-admissions, or from placements where they haven't made a sustained recovery.
Main Duties:
1. Provide practical support and responsive care to service users who require support in their rehabilitation and recovery while ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
2. Observe and monitor the wellbeing of residents, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
3. Provide specific interventions with service users as delegated by a Registered Nurse, and following training and competency attainment. Such interventions include observation and engagement with service users, escorting on appointments, and involvement in de-escalation and management of violence and aggression.
4. Contribute to a team approach to residential care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
5. Participate in regular team meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
