The Division of Theatres and Critical Care are seeking to appoint amotivated individual to the role of Theatre Receptionist within Theatres.
Reporting to the Theatre Manager, the post holder will provide a highquality administrative and confidential clerical service to the OperatingTheatres at Sunderland Royal Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person who canwork both as an individual and also as part of a team with a flexible approachto duties. The successful candidate will be of apleasant disposition, have excellent interpersonal skills and a friendlytelephone manner. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of IT andexperience of using Microsoft Office software packages. Knowledge of thehospital systems is desirable, though full training will be given. There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines andwithstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you areable to work on your own initiative. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but fulltraining will be provided

Main duties of the job
Full cover of theatrereception desk, meet and greet at all times.Answering telephone calls and dealing with queries for thedepartment where appropriate or locating relevant member of staff.
Ensuring only staffwho need to access Theatre go through reception clean and tidy including laminatingnotices.Dispose of confidential waste in department.Maintain staff telephone records including major incidentinformation.Arrange and record request for works through estateshelpdesk.Stationary levels maintained, and stock ordered throughmaterials management with all incoming and outgoing mail. Ensure alloutgoing post is sent out within 24 hours of signing.Accurate and timely input of data onto informationdatabases.
Ensuring all checklists forms are maintained for theatresand available for staff.
Hours of work will be hours per week,Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6pm, however the post holder must bewilling to occasionally work flexibly within the operating hours of the serviceto meet the demands of the role.

Job responsibilities
To efficiently undertake reception duties within Theatres whilst ensuring a confidential service to all.To provide an administrative service and support to staff by ensuring all confidential patient information is prepared and given to Theatre staff in readiness for Theatre lists. Administration tasks include general admin tasks, data input, message taking, relaying of messages to theatre staff, answering surgeons bleep calls, liaising with wards for any queries or equipment required for patients.Liaise with the wards to ensure the prompt arrival of patients into Theatre.Completion of the relevant requisition requests via the Oracle Procurement system, at the request of senior staff, for non-routine products.Ensure all delivery/supplier documentation for non-routine products are filed using agreed protocols.Collect and correlate data and liaise with the audit department and Consultants for the ongoing National Joint Registry Audit.Liaise with Procurement & Supplies team as required
