Job Summary
Due to significant investment in Occupational Therapy within Inpatient services in the Mental Health Care Division of Mersey Care, there are a range of exciting opportunities to work as a Specialist Occupational Therapist across Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens & Knowsley, and Halton and Warrington. Posts are available across acute mental health and PICU wards at Clock View Hospital, Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre, The Brooker Centre, and Windsor House. Additionally, there are opportunities to work in Older Adults Mental Health Wards at Hartley Hospital, Clock View Hospital, and Leigh Moss Hospital. Occupational Therapy services provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of people during their admission to these wards, ensuring a focus on developing skills to improve occupational participation and performance, supporting reduced length of stay and sustained community living upon discharge.
Main Duties of the Job
To utilise and develop specialist knowledge providing professional, up to date interventions within a designated Occupational Therapy Services and to assist in the organisational development, co-ordination, and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Service in conjunction with the Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy and relevant Team/Service Manager. The post holder will contribute to an environment that works with local services to provide evidence-based assessment and delivery of care, using the Model of Human Occupation, and within the context of the effective patient journey. They will continue with their own professional development and assist with that of other Occupational Therapy staff. They will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure that the needs of their clients are met.
