We are looking for weekend staff that can offer a commitment to our company, as well as the challenging and complex young people we support. Strong, confident, capable and caring support workers are needed to help us expand our company and change the lives of more young people. ExeChanges is an established company in Exeter, offering 7 beds across 3 properties, providing residential support for children and young people, aged 16-18, under the care of the local authority.
We work alongside the young people and their support network to prepare them for independence at 18, whilst still meeting their social, emotional and mental health needs through a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.

Day-to-day tasks
* support the individual needs and progress of the young people
* provide advice, guidance and support with all aspects of their lives

* help young people to deal with problems and become independent
* talk with professionals, families and attend meetings where required
* provide health, well-being, and education/employment support, enabling them to reach their full potential

The Job Description includes, but is not limited to:
* Help young people provide feedback to the home and ensure their voice is heard in their care and support.
* Support young people to reduce any behaviours which put them at risk of harm, such as missing from care or criminal exploitation.
* Ensure the home’s records are completed to a high standard before the end of each shift and provide written reports for SLT, looked after reviews and care planning meetings.
* Take part in the home’s routines such as cooking, cleaning, maintaining the environment, and supporting young people to do the same.
* Undertake training as the organisation requires and take responsibility for continuing professional development.
* Attend and contribute to regular team meetings, supervision meetings and complete actions from the annual appraisal.
* Adhere to all health and safety and workplace policies.

ExeChanges is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of all young people in our care. All staff have a key role and responsibility in this area. As a staff member of ExeChanges you are required to prioritise safeguarding at all times.
Due to the nature of your work, circumstances may arise which are unpredictable and you may be required to carry out duties that are not outlined in this Job Description but are requested by the senior staff members. On such occasions we will strive to give you adequate notice and guidance of these duties.

Shifts run from:
* 07.45 - 23.30 - 07.15 - 08.00 (24hr but with a sleep-in section 23.30 – 07.15)
What are we looking for?
* We are looking for experienced staff having previously done this role, or similar job roles.
* Age 23 years old or over (employees must be at least 5 years older than our eldest service user).
* Full, Driving Licence with business insurance will be essential to the role.
* NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in health and social care OR currently working towards the qualification with relevant experience as backing OR be prepared to work towards this qualification.
