Our client is a leader in the Defence and Security sector specialising in Maritime products. They're seeking a Senior Software Engineer - with experience in Embedded Signal Processing to join their dynamic team. This permanent role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence projects, particularly within the realm of sonar signal processing.\n\nThe position requires onsite presence 2 to 3 days per week, emphasising hands-on involvement with test rigs and embedded systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities include;\n\nDesigning software solutions.\nImplementing and testing software in both Assembler and C, including unit and continuous integration testing.\nImplementing, integrating, and optimising sonar signal processing algorithms.\nDeveloping high-quality, maintainable code.\nLoading code onto bespoke embedded hardware platforms and conducting tests.\nIntegrating, analysing defects, and resolving issues to support verification teams.\nPeer reviewing design and code, fostering a culture of learning and feedback.\nDesigning software architecture using UML and the Enterprise Architect tool.\nEstimating work and assisting in building work package backlogs to track progress.\nProgressing assigned stories and tasks using Azure DevOps.\nProviding verbal progress reports and contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.\n\nSkills, Qualification and Experience;\n\nSignificant experience in Assembler development.\nGood experience in C development.\nGood experience in embedded program design.\nGood understanding of signal processing techniques.\nExperience in software/hardware integration and fault resolution.\nGood experience in UML design techniques.\nUnderstanding of the full software development lifecycle.\nExperience with FPGA and DSP hardware.\nFamiliarity with Python would be beneficial.\nYou will report to the Director of Software and must be eligible to obtain UK SC clearance.\n\nCandidates should be within commuting distance of the site based in West London.\n\nEmployee benefits include;\n\nOptional 9-day fortnight\nTime off in lieu (TOIL)\nFlexible working hours\nAnnual bonus\nHybrid working (role-dependent)\nCasual dress code\n25 days holiday + Christmas shutdown\nHoliday purchase/sale options\nPrivate healthcare, dental, and critical illness cover (via salary sacrifice)\nDiscounts at 200+ online stores (Reward Hub)\nLife cover (4x annual salary)If you are passionate about Software Engineering and eager to make an impact within the Defence and Security sector, please apply now or contact me directly to discuss more
