Team Manager – Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Grade L: £51,802 - £52,805 (36 hours per week). An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leadership Team of the Communities department at Sefton Council. You will provide a strong, visible, and proactive leadership approach to the Council’s plan for building stronger communities working collaboratively within our localities. You will also have thematic, boroughwide responsibility for specific service areas which include responsibility for delivering the Council’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, as well as Hate Crime and Prevent services. A key element will be working on the Southport recovery action plan and facilitating community cohesion work. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of the best possible outcomes for our communities and for you to play an active role in the leadership, management, and development of approaches that create a sense of belonging for all our communities. What you will need to succeed We are looking for someone that can evidence a proven track record, or can demonstrate ability of, leadership and management experience within Local Government or a large complex organisation. We want someone who recognises the benefits of diversity, works effectively, and can build positive connections between different people and communities, partner agencies, private sector providers, public agencies, voluntary bodies, and statutory authorities. Evidence of successful financial and resource management, including project management, resolving conflicting priorities, applying rigorous monitoring and control procedures, procurement and establishing value for money is essential. You should also demonstrate high levels of strategic thinking with the ability to translate this into operational practice.
