We have a vacancy for a Senior CAMHS Crisis Practitioner (Urgent Help Service). This role is primarily focused on supporting the operational aspect of the service (rota, supervision, performance monitoring, etc.) as well as supporting the team's clinical needs.
According to demand for the service, this role will be also required to undertake clinical face to face activities. For this reason, access to car is required to travel across Sussex.
We are looking for a highly skilled, forward-thinking, creative and dynamic senior practitioner who has a passion for young person and family-centred care. You will be enthusiastic and resilient and be able to work with and respond to young people's needs creatively and flexibly.
Weekend and Duty cover are also part of this role.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for aspects of operational management.
To provide clinical support and supervision for the team.
To manage a crisis caseload of young people and their families and carers.
To co-ordinate and deliver individualised care packages / programmes for adolescents and their families and evaluate these programmes, ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with national guidelines and trust policy.
To develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with young people and their families/carers.
To be able to assess and manage high-risk adolescent clients in a variety of settings, conduct risk assessments and formulate robust individualised and dynamic safety plans.
To independently undertake crisis mental health assessments in a variety of settings including Accident and Emergency departments out of hours and liaise with relevant individuals and agencies to promote a positive, safe and meaningful experience for the young person and their families
To be able to demonstrate the ability to make appropriate decisions under pressure taking into consideration the risks to clients, self and others and to be able to assess the often complex situations of these clients and their families.
