Radiology Clerical Officer
Band 2 £24,647- £26,763 per annum
Plus £1,349 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
Fixed-Term Post for 12 months

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department in the Western Isles Hospital.
We are looking for a highly motivated, hard working and enthusiastic candidate to provide clerical, administration and secretarial support to the Radiology service.
The Radiology service provides high quality diagnostic imaging to the population of the Western Isles, using a range of equipment and highly skilled staff. Services provided are x-ray, Ultrasound, CT, DEXA and fluoroscopy for patients attending appointments during the day, however an emergency on-call service is also provided for acutely unwell patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in Western Isles Hospital.
Training for Radiology specific systems will be provided: Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS). It is essential that the candidate has awareness of radiation protection.
The postholder will schedule appointments of outpatients and inpatients, enter data into RIS, email/distribute reports to referrers, amend appointments, check blood results, undertake audits, answer telephone calls and answer queries, check and deal with emails regularly; this list of duties is not exhaustive.
It is essential that candidates are computer literate, possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
