The successful post holder needs to be flexible, motivated, and committed to put the patient’s strengths, voice, choice and control at the centre of any interventions. As the clinical specialist for the community wards you will have demonstrable leadership qualities, excellent communication and time management skills with proven abilities to build networks across sites and disciplines. Through your knowledge of emerging clinical advances within the speciality, you will be expected as part of the senior clinical inpatient team to advise the Operational Manager and Senior Management team to inform future service development. Main duties of the job The post is based in the community wards in County Hospital, Griffithstown but will support the physiotherapy medical team one day a week in the Grange University hospital, to provide leadership and clinical support and supervision. The post holder will also have some team lead duties in County Hospital as the static team is quite small. They will work closely with band 7’s across the neighbourhood (Newport and Torfaen) and ABUHB wide, and the clinical lead for rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be expected to provide training, education, supervision and appraisal for staff and students, locally and across the service. As part of the role, you will contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery and support research and innovation agenda.
