Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity for a Sports Graduate to join a well-known Secondary school in Caldicot. In this role, you will primarily work within a school setting, providing invaluable support to either a young pupil with Duchenne muscular dystrophy disease or a Year 7 pupil with a form of giantism. Your role will involve assisting them with daily activities, offering general support as a Teaching Assistant (TA). There will be opportunities to help within a sporting environment along the way. Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one support and assistance to a young pupil with Duchenne disease or a Year 7 pupil with a form of giantism. Help with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and accessing the school environment. Assist with educational tasks and ensure a positive learning experience for the pupil. Use your sports background to incorporate physical activities and sports into the pupil's routine, promoting their physical well-being and social inclusion. Work with the class teacher and other school staff. To have empathy, patience, and understanding towards children facing physical challenges. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the pupil. Requirements: Enhanced DBS cleared & on the update service. (or willing to apply) EWC registered. (or willing to apply) Be able to provide 2 of your most recent references. Have the right to work in the UK. Have up to date safeguarding training or willing to take it.
