The Sigma Trust Job Role: Trust Data Protection Officer Pay Range: Local Government Scale 7 (Point 19-24) Hours/Weeks: 37 Hours per week, 52.14 weeks (variations considered for the right applicant) Actual Salary from: £31,067 - £34,314 per annum The Role Sigma is a multi-academy trust, responsible for 12 schools and a teacher training provider in Colchester and Tendring, employing 1,600 staff. We are seeking an outstanding individual who will undertake the post of Data Protection Officer within our central team to deliver a high quality, compliant service. The successful candidate will support the Trust to drive a positive culture of data protection compliance, by working collaboratively with stakeholders to promote risk awareness and a culture of openness so that Information Governance is an integral part of the Trust’s operation. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Managing all centrally received requests under the data protection and freedom of information regulations and provide support and advice to our schools in these fields. Reviewing and maintaining data protection impact assessments. Staying up to date with information governance, statutory and regulatory requirements and provide advice to the Trust to ensure it operates effectively and compliantly. Undertaking risk assessments and impact assessments of the Trust’s operations to ensure compliance with information governance requirements. We're looking for you if you have: Strong computer skills and the ability to use necessary databases and systems Extensive experience in using MS Office (Excel, Word etc.) and Google G-Suite to collate, analyse, share and communicate An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure (The full details can be found in the attached Job Outline and Person Specification).
